"I'm just blown away. I just came to participate. I didn't think I'd come first," she said humbly, after the event.
Tom revisited the debate on seal hunting, and -- after some research -- expressed her opposition to the practice, when the fur is used for commercial purposes.
Leah Derouard won second for her talk on plastics, as she talked about ways to curb waste and the impact on our environment, while Drew Hintz placed third for tackling depression.
