Traffic stop leads to drug charges

A Sioux Lookout man has been arrested once again on drug charges following a traffic stop in the Dryden area.

On Wednesday Ontario Provincial Police conducted the stop around 8 p.m. on Government Street within city limits.

An investigation by officers resulted in the discovery and seizure of undisclosed amounts of cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, hydromorphone, and oxycodone.

An undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and other items associated with the drug trade were also seized.

The 32-year-old was arrested and remains in custody on the charges of:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking x3
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property obtain by Crime under $5,000
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order – other than attend court – two counts

He is slated to appear in court on March 5th.
