The province is working on a route for twinning the highway.

Ontario's minister for Northern Development -- Michael Gravelle -- says they want to meet with community members and stakeholders, as part of the planning process. This would apply for the first section from the Manitoba to Rush Bay Road weighing station, as well as the second section from Rush Bay Road to Kenora.

His comments come after complaints about delays from Kenora MP Bob Nault. A provincial report shows construction on the project won't begin for at least four years.

Funding for the first section was announced eight years ago.
