A delegation from Kenora council's off to Ottawa, where they'll meet with provincial cabinet ministers. Mayor Dave Canfield says double-laning the Trans-Canada's high on their agenda.
"Minister (Greg) Rickford has already announced that twinning the highway is one of his top priorities. That's a good thing. We've been bugging (the province) every single year," he said.
Mayors from across Ontario will also be looking for more money to help with roads, bridges and water works.
"We're really looking forward to meeting the new government, meeting the new ministers. Some of them I know quite well," Canfield added.
