Two jail staff in Kenora were sent to hospital, after inmates started lighting fires last night. The jail staff were treated for smoke inhalation and later released.
The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services says the crisis intervention team was able to remove non-compliant inmates, and the public's safety wasn't at risk. The OPP confirm that were called in to help around 5:30 p.m.
The ministry is still investigating what happened, during last month's hostage taking.
