The City of Kenora has started work on upgrades to the Coney Island Boardwalk. A local contractor is starting the replacement of the covered boardwalk.
The city says that demolition is taking place this week, after it was determined that work should wait until after the busy summer months. The new material for the boardwalk is set to arrive later this month.
Construction of the new covered boardwalk will start once the new material arrives, and is expected to be completed near the beginning of October.
