Kenora city councillor Mort Goss wants to see more partnerships with neighbouring First Nations.
"This is a big historic moment, and I'm proud and pleased to be part of it," he said, after last week's council meeting.
On the agenda at the September meeting was a resolution authorizing staff from the city to negotiate with their neighbours in Rat Portage. Kenora's working on a servicing agreement to share its water and sewer operations with neighbouring Wauzhushk Onigum.
Should talks succeed and the partnership become reality, it could end the community's boil water advisory.
