Water levels on the Winnipeg River are set to drop today, as the Lake of the Woods Control Board adjusts output from the Norman Dam. As a result, levels near the dam are expected to drop six in., while levels near Minaki might decrease by four inches.
The changes may make ice along the river unstable, as the levels adjust and settle. This could make conditions more unpredictable for ice anglers, or those setting up ice rinks along the river.
