Despite the rain, water levels are still low on Lake of the Woods. Andrew Liddiard from the Lake of the Woods control board explains.
"I has been quite low. I think everyone would recognize it's been on lower range of what we would consider to be the normal range for the summer. It is coming up. We'd like to see it come up another 6 cm from what it is today," he said.
Liddiard said the rain earlier in the week mostly targeted Kenora. Adding that the Lake of the Woods basin only got 26 millimetres of rain.
He contributed the lower water levels to the dry conditions experienced in the region during the beginning of the season.
