Engineers with the Lake of the Woods Control Board say water levels are about eight inches below what your charts are telling you.

Levels may also shift, due to the wind direction. The lack of rain and snow melt has been blamed for the low water levels.

The current level of Lake of the Woods is 1,058.3 feet. The average lake level rose by three inches over the past week, and it's expected to rise by one to three inches over the next week.

The current level of Lac Seul is 1,165.6 feet. The average lake level rose by six inches over the past week, and it's expected to rise by four to eight inches over the next week.
