The week of action against poverty is on in Kenora. Volunteers got an early start at Jubilee Church yesterday, where they held a breakfast. Marlene Elder was one of the helpers in the kitchen from the local NDP.
"I can't tell you how satisfying it is to feed people. They go away happy, and it's just a few hours of people's time," she said.
The week of action runs until the 18th, and it includes food bank donations, winter clothing drives and other random acts of kindness.
