A Kenora woman was charged with operating a vehicle impaired by drug, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of marijuana over 30 grams on Saturday night.

Kenora Ontario Provincial Police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Ninth St. N at around 9 p.m. Police patrolled the area and located the vehicle. It was determined the driver was impaired and she was arrested at the scene. She was transported to the detachment for further tests.

Ashley Loranger, 23, is set to appear in Kenora court on May 11 to answer to the charges.

Charges:

  • Care or Control While Impaired by Drug, Contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Cocaine, Contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance- Cannabis Marihuana, over 30 grams (CDSA)
