Canada Day is coming up and with that comes the anticipated events and fireworks show!
Drones are becoming more and more popular these days and one would think using a drone to get some great shots of the fireworks and events throughout the weekend on Kenora's Harbourfront would be a lot of fun, but did you know that it is in fact dangerous and illegal?
No drone can be flown over 300 feet without a permit and must be flown during the day. You can not use your drone within 1.9 kilometres of a helipad or 5.6 kilometres of an airport or water port. Meaning, no flying within the Harbourfront as it provides an aerodrome (water airport) and a helipad.
To learn more about flying your drone safely visit Transport Canada!
Anthony Sharp is the Base Manage with Ornge Air Ambulance in Kenora and he will have more on drone safety tomorrow on the Q Morning Show just after 8:00am!
Have a safe and enjoyable Canada Day long weekend!
