Beaver Brae Secondary School held their annual spring pow wow today in honour of this year's graduates, where 57 of 102 are indigenous.

The event started off with lunch where chicken wild rice soup, beef soup and bannock was provided for all. Following was the grand entry, a hoop dance, and throughout, Anishinaabemowin language challenges and sport dances. There was also an honour in Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIW).

Hoope dancer: Shanley Spence- Miss Indian World 2nd runner up
Head young dancers: Malik Courchene and Skyra Arch
