The hot, dry weather this spring should mean less mosquitos. They prefer standing pools of water or swamps.

Home owners can still reduce the insects by removing puddles from eaves, drains and lawns.

Unless wind assisted, a University of Winnipeg grad student is showing how most mosquitos stay within five kilometres of their breeding site.

Favourite breeding grounds may include:

  • Standing Water
  • Bird Baths
  • Eaves and Drains
  • Around Your Yard and Lawn
  • Ornamental Ponds/Pools
  • Swimming Pools
