Your opportunity to dispose of any hazardous waste from your home or cottage is coming soon.

The Transfer Station in Kenora will be accepting potentially dangerous materials such as fuel, antifreeze, hobby chemicals, cleansers, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, butane, aerosol cans, batteries etc. to dispose of.

Starting June 1, 2017 the Transfer Station will accept such waste every Thursday from 9:00am until 2:00pm. This service is free, and will run until the end of September.

In 2016, over 40 tonnes of hazardous waste was collected in efforts that none would reach the landfill.

If you have any questions about acceptable items, contact the Transfer Station at 807-467-2980.
