Beaver Brae Secondary School has a Jack Chapter, which is a safe environement for students to discuss the issues and stigmas related to mental ilness. Its focus is to bring awareness to all students that mental health is not something to be ashamed of and to make comfortable, the talks around it.
The Jack Chapter is holding a "Hot Chocolate Talks" event during tomorrow's lunch hour (11:30am-12:30pm) at the top of the atrium. This is an opportunity for all students to gather to talk about the mental illness in a safe zone and to discuss ways that the school can end the stigma around mental illness.
