Fat City is a well known Kenora band that has played hundreds of parties and socials and have opened for The Stampeders, Paul Brandt, Randy Bachman and they were the fist band to hit the stage at the Whitecap Pavilion opening for Blue Rodeo. On November 22, the band lost their drummer, Gary Alcock while awaiting a liver transplant. Fat City frontman Lorry Alcock urges everyone to fill out their donor cards to help those who need a transplant in order to live. Lorry is also organizing 1 for Gary - A Triple P.L.A.Y. fundraiser for kids in the arts. Local musicians including The Boogiemen, Shadow Junction, and former Big Boogaloo members, along with Pat Brett, Greg Coombes, Mark LaBelle and more will take the stage at the Kenora Curling Club on Saturday, March 30th. The show in memory of Gary Alcock goes from 8:00pm to midnight. Tickets are $10.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door. Purchase tickets at Northern Sounds & Systems, Keewatin Guardian Pharmacy and Kenora Daily Miner & News. We'll talk with Lorry Alock at 8:40 on Thursday's Q Morning Show.
