With the weather warming, homeowners are tidying up their yards, which may include open air burning. In Kenora, an Open Air Burning Permit is required for all outside burning. Old grass, leaves, waste wood, small brush piles and untreated lumber may be burned in the evening two hours before sunset and two hours after sunrise. No day burning permitted between April 1 and October 31.
Open Air Burning Permits can be purchase for $15 at City Hall, Fire Station One, and here.
