With a number of water-related tragedies in the area, the Kenora Recreation Centre and the Lifesaving Society want to remind resident to stay safe with four important water smart messages.

 1. If you’re not within arm’s rach – you’ve gone too far!

2. Boat smart, boat sober and always wear you PFD.

3. Watch me. NOT your phone.

4. Swim to Survive.

Swim to Survive is a program to prepare everyone for an unexpected fall into the water, and the Kenora Recreation Centre and the Lifesaving Society will be at Norman Beach today to practice water safety with a number of activities.

The program runs from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the beach and the LOWDPOA LakeSmart team will also be in attendance!

Crystal Stokes is the Aquatic Facilitator at the Rec Centre and she will be on Friday’s Q Morning Show to talk more about the program!
