It's the last day of summer and it was a great one for us! We have you to thank!
It all started when the Q-Crew headed to the streets of Kenora to clean up and prepare for our summer residents and visitors throughout the week before May long weekend! We welcomed them back for the summer with our "Welcome Back" day, where we stood on the Greenbelt in front of our billboard as we smiled and waved helping our friends feel welcome! What a blast!
The Teddy Bear Picnic and Q-Munity BBQ proved to be another successful day! We were at Anicinabe Park where the Q-Crew served out free hot dogs to the community, and the Lake of the Woods Hospital Foundation joined us! They offered a Teddy Bear hospital for kids to bring their stuffed animals for a check up, and for the first time this year, a Teddy CT Scanner!
This was only the beginning!
We were involved with Camp Day at Tim Hortons, the Canada Day Parade, Kenora Pride, the 9th Maybe Annual Coney Island Music Festival, Harbourfest and much much more!
Jordan Rivers made the trip every Thursday to broadcast live at Dryden Days of Summer where prizes were always available to be won!
Our Summer '17 promotions included a FREE draw for the 2017 Polaris RZR from WSL Sport & Leisure (which we enjoyed riding around throughout the summer!), the Q104 Cash Draw all in support of the LWDHF's CT Scan Fund and we brought back the Hot Sticky Thing, which was the key to winning great prizes!
We were set up at the Matiowski Farmers' Market broadcasting live on Wednesdays and we loved seeing familiar faces and meeting you!
To wrap up another great summer, we held our annual End of Summer Street Party! Live music from Reilly Scott, Tyler Wood, Mike Procyshyn & Lonesome Boxcar and North Shore! We drew for the Q104 Cash Draw and Cheryl Miklash won close to $10,000.00! The Polaris RZR was also given away to Jamie Bruce, who has recently generously donated it to the Community Foundation!
Thank you to all who were a part of our Summer '17!
