The Dryden Recreation Extension and Modification committee is happy to announce that $50,000 in funds have been raised since September 1, which will go towards upgrading and expanding the Dryden Memorial Arena.

With the increase of the number of girls playing hockey at the arena, the project is focused on adding gender specific dressing rooms as the first phase, of many, to be completed.

This is a multi-phase and multi-year multi-million dollar project and there is still a lot of fundraising to be done.

The DREAM committee will be holding a “Hometown Proud” fundraiser and dinner on July 26 at the Dryden Agricultural Centre. Auctions, prize tables and guest speakers, including Stanley Cup winner and Olympic gold medalist, Chris Pronger. Former NHL player and author, Sean Pronger and assistant coach of the Grand Rapids Griffins, Bruce Ramsay.
