The Shoebox Project for Women, supported by Dream, collects and distributes gift-filled Shoeboxes to women impacted by homelessness in communities across Canada and the US. Each thoughtfully created and decorated Shoebox is filled with items valued at $50 that can enhance self-esteem and reduce feelings of isolation for women in need.
On November 17, the Kenora, Dryden & Sioux Lookout Shoebox Project Local Coordinator, Lindsay Koch will be set up between noon and 4:00pm at Poplar + Birch in Kenora for their holiday drive to receive your completed Shoeboxes to deliver to local shelters. Decorate your shoebox as it is a gift and be sure to include a positive and inspirational message! Often, these words are what makes women feel most cared for.
You can also bring your completed Shoebox to Abundance in Kenora!
Some items that you can include in your shoebox are: gift cards, skin care products, good quality soaps and shampoos, make-up, chocolates, and warm socks and mittens!
