Pastor Frank Kowal continues to broaden his horizons, as he has recently returned from a visit to Zimbabwe.
"We have been sponsoring eight children to go to school, paying their school fees, so we wanted to go visit the children and the schools," he said.
Another school, with 400 students, also asked for help with fresh water, during the visit. Instead, Kowal found a way for about four barrels a week of water to be delivered to the students for about $20 a week.
Along with the students, the visitors also got to meet with their parents. While classrooms are far more modest, in terms of esthetics, teachers are sharply dressed and take their jobs seriously, Kowal emphasized.
Kowal is the minister for Jubilee Church in downtown Kenora. For the last four years, he's been joined by Pilate Tshuma -- who is originally from Zimbabwe -- began attending Jubilee.
"It was a different type of a trip. I got to do some sightseeing," Kowal noted, which was a nice change from mission trips he'd taken to Liberia in previous years.
