Triple Play hosting SIJHL exhibition games again

The Kenora Islanders and the Fort Frances Lakers of the SIJHL will be taking part in a couple of exhibition games this month.

Barry Reynard from Triple Play says they are organizing the pre-season games as a way of making money for their program.

“100 percent of all the funds that we raise…we pay all of the expenses of Fort Frances coming in, which is food, accommodations, we pay all of the rink costs,” explains Reynard.

“In the end, if we make some money, we get to keep that as Triple Play, but our push this year is in partnership with the boys and girls minor hockey associations.”

Reynard say the exhibition games for the junior hockey teams will be on September 15th and 16th.

“They have provided the opportunity to raise funds through their first two actual exhibition games here.  We’re looking forward to having a great weekend of raising some funds and some awareness about Triple Play.”

Tickets for the games are now available at the Moncrief Construction Sports Center and Reynard says players from both teams will be doing some drills with local minor hockey teams prior to those games.
