With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Liza Jane White on February 6, 2024, who was surrounded by family at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora.

Liza is predeceased by the love of her life William (Billy) Alexander Kelly, her paternal grandparents, Alfred and Mary; her maternal grandparents, John and Maggie White; her father Louie Morrison. Her Brother: Russell White. Her sister in laws Lorna Kelly, and Gloria Paypompee. Uncles: Maynard McCleod, Freeman “Tony” White Sr., Dennis White, and Larry Morrison. Aunties: Evelyn White (nee Joseph), Evelyn Cowley, Lorraine Kelly, Stella Morrison, Alice Morrison, and Anna Marie Belanger. Cousins: Daniel “Hoss” White, Ryan White, and Dale Jack, Ogimaabines White.

Liza is survived by her two children: Brandon (Gerilyn), and Montana; her three stepchildren: Nicole, Paul, and Nigel; her mother: Shirley “Hossum” White; her siblings: Conrad (Sam), Birdie, and Priscilla (Patrick). Liza’s nephews: Eagle (Chelsea), Jared (Chantelle), Kyle, Casper, Randell and Lynxx. Her nieces: Ivory (Kriss), Connie (Isaac), Cami (Eugene), Rain, Dee-dee (Myron), Janessa, Ocean, and Trina. Great Nephews: Illias, Caius, Sundance, Keilan, Khyren and William. Great Nieces: Alaina, Isla, Chloe, Haelyn, Harlin, Anna, and Elliana. Uncles: Andy (Caroline), and Clarence “Cheboz” White Sr. Aunt: Shasha (Gordie). Cousins, whom Liza considered as her siblings: Farrell (Verna), Toni, Elaine, Keith, Randy (Claudine), Rhonda, Wobby (Charlene), Mandy, A.J. (Crystal), Miinas (Jojo), Goose (Chris), Gray-fox (Jayd), Pammy, Sonny (Marilyn), Tina, Marge (Jon), Rene, Stephanie, Jeffrey (Chrysta), Jim, Dino, Tami (Josh), Kyle, Eugene (Natasha), Clayton (Robin), Timmy, Garret, Kingsley and Allah. Her brother-in-laws Richard Kelly and Mervin Paypompee.

Liza Jane was loved by many others: her work family, golfing friends, pow-wow circle friends, friends she met from volunteering, her family, friends, and all those that crossed her path. She was always the life and light of any circle she was apart of. She will be greatly missed by her best friends Paula Paypompee and Lois Lane.

Liza Jane worked at Waasegiizhig Nanaandawe’iyewigamig for several years in different roles. She was a Personal Support Worker, a health coach, and a damn good cook.

Liza Jane’s wake will start at 3:00pm in Onigaming at the round house on Friday February 9, 2024. A traditional funeral to follow on Saturday morning at 10:00am. She will be laid next to her father, Big Lou, in Onigaming First Nation.
