Rose, Wesley Frederick (Wes)
May 25, 1959 – February 25, 2024

It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Wesley (Wes) Rose at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital peacefully, with his family by his side.

Wes was predeceased by his father Albert (Abby) Rose; father-in-law and mother-in-law Roy and Agnes (Nancy) Hudec; brother-in-law Micheal Hudec; sisters-in-law Roseanna Hudec and Linda Rose.

Surviving is his wife Carol of 43 years, children Jennifer Rose; Christine Skead (Waylon); grandchildren Cerriwddyn, Rowan, Raedan, Logan, Drake and Kaine. Brother Barry (Carol) Rose; sisters Linda (Dave) Wideman; Cheryl (Brent Pearson) Rose and life long friends Steve Peacock and Maurice Chevrier. Also several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Wesley was born in Kenora, where he attended his schooling and met his high school sweetheart, and love of his life, Carol. They were married on July 26, 1980 and proceeded to have their family and enjoy life. Wes worked at Kantola Motors, Dingwall Ford and Shanes Northern Tire and Auto for several years. One of the best mechanics in Kenora.

Wes was an avid outdoorsman spending a lot of his free time snowmobiling, fishing (winter and summer), hunting, as well as camping with family and friends. Wes was adornly referred to as “Mr. Wes Coach” as he taught and coached his daughters and their fellow baseball team for several years. Darts was another of his activities and he has many trophies to show for it. In later years he spent a fair amount of time outdoors with his grandsons teaching them all about the fishing game.

Special thanks to Steve Peacock and Maurice Chevrier for all your help over the last few years. Also thank you to Dr. Noack, Dr. Drake, Dr. Olson, Dr. Brad Kyle, Char (Palliative Care Nurse) and the nurses on 3 East.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kenora Rotary Club, Canadian Cancer Society and the ALS Association.

A viewing will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday March 1, 2024 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm, with a service to follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Cathy Giroux officiating. A family interment will be held at a later date.
