Samantha Paypompee, age 37 of Naotkamegwanning Anishinabe Nation suddenly passed away on February 12, 2024.

Samantha is predeceased by her mother Bernice Paypompee, brother William Paypompee. Paternal grandparents Jim and Winnie Blackhawk; maternal grandparents Sam and Bertha Paypompee. Aunties and uncles; Dorothy Paypompee, Jane Jack, Judith Paypompee, Sophie Paypompee, Meta Blackhawk, Joyce Blackhawk, and Nancy Blackhawk, Stanley Paypompee, Charlie Paypompee, William Paypompee Sr, Donald Blackhawk, Stephan Blackhawk, Bobby Blackhawk, Ronnie Blackhawk, Joseph Blackhawk, and Frank Blackhawk. Nephew Castor Bird.

She is survived by her common-law husband Faron Johnson and her beautiful children; Evangeline, Hayla, Loveine, little Faron, Rosemary, and her father Stanley Blackhawk. Her siblings; Debbie, Linda (Rowman), and Tina, Ronald (Leigh), Stanford, and Jonathan. Nieces and nephews; Kastin, Ireland, Geronimo, Laval, Derian, Darius, Tsase, Alayla, Ariana, Starlette, Haven, Eternity, Vernon, Rigel, Mulani, Liam, Leah, Logan, Laiton, Lyles, and Lucas. Aunties and Uncle: Joann Paypompee, Sheila Jack and Leroy Paypompee, and numerous cousins.

Samantha liked to be around people, was a big social butterfly. She also loved to brighten people’s day, joked around. She loved telling stories about her children, always tried her best to provide for her children and everyone around her. She was a great woman with a big personality and very loving, always there when someone needed her. She also had great talent for her drawing when she was young. She had many friends she was close to. Samantha will be missed by all.

The family would like to say chi miigwech to Naotkamegwanning EMS, Naotkamegwanning band office, Northwest Angle 33, and the Treaty #3 Police.

The wake service will be at the NWA 33 Hall on Tuesday February 27, 2024, at 2:00 pm, followed by a Traditional funeral service on Wednesday February 28, 2024, officiated by Elder Langford Ogemah of Wauzhushk Onigum Nation.
