April 28, 1991 – February 29, 2024

Chucky, a resident of Northwest Angle 33 First Nation, Ontario passed away suddenly at the age of 32 on February 29, 2024.

Chucky was predeceased by his grandparents Steven and Florence Bird, Frank and Adeline Sandy, his brother, uncles Rick Sandy, Robert Sandy, Arthur Bird, Stanley Bird; Aunties Lillian Bird, niece Kirbi D. Paypompee and cousin Cory Joseph.

He is survived by his children Manitoo and Kekatchi; parents Francis C. Sandy Sr., Theresa Bird, siblings, Charlene (Allan) Morrison, Terry Bird, Fred Sandy, Lee-Ann Sandy (Robert), Janine Major, and Jasmine Girard, nephews, Ethan, Riley, JakJak, Terrell, Lucien, Troy, Landon, Chris, Drayden, and Damon. his best friends April Oshie and Tamook Paypompee, as well as his nieces; Chanin, Andrea, Sierra, Shayla,, Aliyah, Teesha, Trece, Brielle, and great niece Lavana

In the past recent years, Chucky loved to spend time with his Kenora family and friends. He understood their lifestyle and struggles. In his earlier years, his passion was basketball, volleyball, biking and weightlifting. He loved his two young boys Manitoo and Kekatchii and taught them to be respectful and listen.

Wake service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 11:00am at Northwest Angle 33 Community Hall. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11:00am with Pastor Frank Kowal & Special friends Darrell and Kathy Nisly leading the Christian ceremony with burial to follow.

Pallbearers will be Terry, Robert, Fred, Innis, and Ethan. Honorary pallbearers will be Courtney, Mario, Chad, Chris and Mercedez.

The family would like to thank St. Boniface Hospital and its Doctors, NWA33, Darlene Oshie, Monica Shebagegit, Kenora Chiefs Advisory and Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre for all of the care and compassion shown to our family.
