Five years after the merger of Kenora Hydro and Thunder Bay Hydro, electricity rates will finally be harmonized.

As of May 1st, Synergy North says customers in Kenora and Thunder Bay will be paying the same prices for electricity.

That’s good news for Kenora rate payers as the price of hydro will go down about 1.9 percent, $2.51.

In Thunder Bay, electricity costs will be going up 2.2 percent, or about $2.75.

The Ontario Energy Board says it has approved local distribution revenue, transmission, and regulatory rates for Synergy North.
