The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says there are now 32 wildfires burning in the northwest region.
Four more were reported yesterday.
Two in the Sioux Lookout District and two in the Red Lake District.
Of the active forest fires, just one is listed as out of control.
One fire is under control and 30 others are just being observed.
The MNRF says the fire hazard is starting to inch up with the warm weather.
That’s due to the recent hot, dry conditions across most of the region.
It’s in the high range across most of the region with pockets of extreme in the far north, and moderate in the southern portions in the Kenora, Fort Frances, Nipigon, Thunder Bay and Dryden Districts.
