13 active forest fires in northwestern Ontario

Nipigon 43 (NIP043) is situated to the south of Frazer Lake, roughly 18 kilometres northwest of Nipigon town. On Saturday afternoon,

This 2.0-hectare fire was targeted by waterbombers in an aerial assault. Currently, the fire remains uncontrolled.

Thunder Bay 22 (THU022) was located near Loon Lake and Hwy. 11/17, approximately 40 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay.

The 0.1-hectare fire has been called out.

As of this update, AFFES stated 13 fires are burning in the Northwest Region. Among them, two are raging uncontrollably, one is managed, and 10 are under observation.
