The City of Dryden is once again looking at applying to province’s Connecting Link Fund.
It would be for the rehabilitation of Duke Street from Casmir Avenue to Earl Avenue.
Operations manager Blake Poole says the project has been on their books since 2017.
“The City of Dryden currently has tender documents, drawings and specs developed for this specific project, but they would definitely have to be updated before a 2025/2026 tender call,” Poole told council recently.
“I listed the scope of work developed for this project. The difficulty is getting the underground and above ground funded at both times, especially how our reserves have been doing. But we do think it’s time we move forward with that project.”
The project will cost more than $4.8 million.
Connecting Link funding would contribute $3 million dollars to the project, but that would not include any underground work, like sewer and water replacement.
The rest would of the funding would have to come from the city, unless the city can find another stream of government funding for the work.
Poole points out the City of Dryden has been very successful in the past in getting Connecting Link funding.
