Grassy Narrows stays with the Treaty Three Police Service

By Tim Davidson Nov 7, 2024 | 12:04 PM

The Treaty Three Police says the Grassy Narrows First Nation has elected to stay with them.

Back at the end of July, both Grassy and the Wabaseemoong Independant Nation indicated they were severing ties with the Indigenous police service.

Wabaseemoong has since contracted with the OPP to provide police service as of tomorrow.

But the Treaty Three Police says it’s has been in dialogue with Grassy and will continue to address the needs of the First Nation community.

The Board of the Treaty Three Police say their goal now is to make sure it has the resources to service the communities it serves and protects.
