Sterling was a Huge Winnipeg Jets fan. He bonded with many through his love of hockey and his favorite team. He loved to stay home and watch the games. If the Jets made the playoffs, you would know he wouldn’t miss a game for the world. Go Jets Go! He was also a Blue Bombers fan. Go Blue!
Sterling loved to work with children and youth. He spent some time working as a Right to Play Rep at Kenora Chiefs Advisory, and at other organizations working with youth in other capacities, and most recently rejoined his team back at Abinoonji which he was so happy about. Children and youth loved him! His nephews and nieces loved his Sponge Bob impersonations. He loved to show his support by attending games whenever they got involved with sports. He recently took in 2 of his nieces to live with them so they could attend high school. Sterling was truly the best Dad and Uncle that any kid could ever ask for.
Sterling had hobbies that included camping, fishing, quadding, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his loved ones. Sterling was one of kind. He was incredibly loved by many and will be terribly missed by all who knew him. His love of all music and entertaining everyone with his singing will always be remembered.
One thing we all knew from meeting Sterling was his ability to love all. His spirit never allowed judgment and understood that all of the Lord’s creatures are equally loved in his presence.
Thank you, friends and family, for all your love and support, your presence, words of encouragement. Your condolences are heard and received. I would like to add that Sterling loved Jesus and gave his life to the Lord; he was Baptized in Garden Lake in Grassy Narrows. He is with his Lord and Savior and most likely searching heaven for Elvis.
