KBI ready to hit the water

By Tim Davidson Aug 7, 2024 | 11:59 AM

The Kenora Bass International turns 35 this year, and it will feature one of the biggest fields ever.

So far 150 teams have entered.

Chair of KBI, Cori Libitka says they are still accepting registrations.

“Registration stays open right up until the rules meeting,” explains Libitka.

“So, they can even register under the tent, if they wish.  But we are really encouraging people to go to kbifishing.com this year, because we might actually be full.”

Libitka adds that the children’s fishing tournament has also proven to be very popular this year.

“The Kid’s tournament is always the same days:  Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  We just fish for an hour.  So, you have to pick a day.  You can also register on the kbifishing website.  There’s a link to kids.  We’re almost full.  There are only a few spots left, so they have to do that quickly, if they want to register.”

Fishing starting Thursday morning with the first flight leaving the Kenora Harbourfront at 6:30 am.

The final day weigh-ins will take Saturday afternoon at 3 pm, followed by the boat parade at 5:00, for the top ten teams in the tournament.
