Kenora is set to have a new acting fire chief.

Dexter Hupe is taking on the role.

He’s currently the deputy fire chief.

He is replacing David Pratt who plans on retiring.

“Fire and Emergency Services provide so many important services to everyone that lives, works and plays in the City of Kenora,” said Pratt. “Staff have continually demonstrated their knowledge and skills in the delivery of this highly efficient and effective service, it was an honour to lead this team.”

Acting Fire Chief Hupe will remain in the role until a replacement is found.

His first official day is September 23.
