The OPP say they will be taking over police service on the Wabaseemoong Independant Nation as of this Friday.
Both Wabaseemoong and Grassy Narrows indicated this past summer that they would be severing ties with the Treaty #3 Police Service.
The First Nations indicated they were not happy with the police service they were getting and the response times.
The OPP will be taking over as of midnight on November 7th in the communities of One Man Lake, Swan Lake and Whitedog.
Jim Neild will be taking over as the detachment commander of the satellite office of the OPP and will be the acting inspector.
