A 25-year-old Kenora man is facing charges of Assault with a Weapon after an incident at the Kenora Movie Theatre Thursday night – and was released shortly afterwards.
The Kenora OPP say they were called to the Second Street South business after the report of an assault around 7 p.m. They were advised a male had attacked the manager, and the two were fighting outside.
Later, the male suspect reportedly returned to the Theatre and tried to attack the manager with a knife.
The OPP say they attended the scene immediately and located the suspect nearby. As a result, the 25-year-old of Kenora was charged with:
– Assault with a Weapon,
– Fail to Comply with a Probation Order,
The OPP says the accused was held in custody to answer to the charges.
After media requests to the Kenora and Dryden Courthouses, Acadia News has learned the suspect was granted bail and is set to appear in Kenora Courts on February 23.
