33-year-old education worker Jessica Shabaquay is $75,000 richer after winning big on an Instant Winner’s Circle.

The Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation woman says she’s been playing the lottery since she turned 19 and now has plans to take her kids to Toronto and Niagara Falls to visit Canada’s Wonderland.

“I play twice a week. This is my first big win!” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

“When I realized I had all the numbers in the winner’s circle, I didn’t believe it, so I had to check the ticket on the OLG App and that’s when I confirmed I won $75,000. I was shaking!” she adds.

Shabaquay says her parents were in shock and her kids didn’t believe her at first, and notes the winning ticket was bought at the Red River Co-op Gas Bar on Government Street in Dryden.

This is the second major win for northwestern Ontario this month.

Scott Dell of Sioux Lookout collected his $100,000 winnings on March 1 after matching 6 of 7 ENCORE numbers to win. His ticket was bought at the Fresh Market Foods in Sioux Lookout.
