New scale to be installed at Transfer Station

By Ryan Forbes Oct 3, 2022 | 4:51 AM

The City of Kenora says a new scale is being installed at the Transfer Station this week, which will cause some interruptions to services.

Large loads:
– large loads will be accepted through the north scale gate (regular scale gate),
– As the scale is out of service, a flat rate will be charged,
– There may be delays while processing the loads, please allow extra time for the process,
– If possible, store large loads until construction’s complete to avoid lengthy delays

Garbage bags:
– there will be no service interruption for individual bags,
– The city says please use the recycle entrance and place bags with tags in the collector bin at the depot,

– All bags must be tagged with a City of Kenora bag tag, as there will be no cashier service,
– There will be no access from the depot to the scale building,

Recycle Depot:
– The recycle depot will be open as usual, but without access to the scale building,

The city says all services will resume once the scale is installed by the 7th, and staff apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
