After two months of repairs, the Tunnel Island Trail has reopened for Kenora residents.
The City of Kenora is thanking staff on their Roads crew who worked to rehabilitate the trail for hikers, bikers and pets.
The City of Kenora shut down the Tunnel Island trail after a washout on June 30.
Tunnel Island is co-owned by the City of Kenora, Wauzhushk Onigum Nation, Ochiichagwe’Babigo’Ining First Nation and Obashkaandagaang First Nation, who all work together to manage the land and trail network on Tunnel Island.
Residents are reminded to always keep their dogs on a leash on the trail and to always clean up after their pets.
